Q

What are the steps of light reaction (6)

A
  1. The light reaction occurs in the chloroplast. It contains the green pigment chlorophyll which traps light energy.
  2. Light energy is converted into chemical energy
  3. Some of this energy is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen
  4. Some of the energy id used to product ATP (this stores chemical energy)
  5. The hydrogen and ATP are required for Stage 2 of photosynthesis
  6. Excess oxygen diffuse from the cells into the atmosphere.

Q

What is the limiting factor

A

If a requirement is in short supply it is called the limiting factor

17
Q

What does the limiting factor do

A

If there is a limiting factor it will slow down the rate of reaction

18
Q

What are the 3 limiting factors in Photosynthesis

A
  • light intensity
  • carbon dioxide concentration
  • temperature
