What was the Spanish Inquisition and how did it show the power of the new monarchs of this time?

The Spanish Inquisition was when King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella kicked out all of the Jews from Spain because they decided that Jewish people could not be properly converted to Christianity and were of a different race. The two of them did it so they could more closely control the religion of the area.
