• Anti-virus and malware check can be carried out from the server rather than each individual PC

• Network failure - If one file server fails then no one can access their files
• Slow service - If lots of users are logged on then the network slows down
• Cost - Very expensive to set up and keep running
• Security - Users might not log out of their account and could give unauthorised person access to all their files

• Passwords - Create strong passwords and change them frequently
• Backups - Central backups should be made regularly this way a rollback or restore of files can be made
• Encryption - Data should be encrypted especially if hubs are being used this is because all the data is broadcast to all the devices on the network
