Narcissistic Personality Disorder (cluster b)
A
- think they are super important
- demand and expect to be praised by others
- can’t appreciate other peoples opinions
- pervasive pattern of grandiosity
- need admiration, lack of empathy
- exaggerates achievements and talents
- preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty
- thinks that he or she is “special” and can only be understood by high-status people
- has a sense of entitlement
- exploitative– takes advantage of others
- lacks empathy
- often envious of others or believes that others are envious of you
- arrogant

antisocial PD in DSM vs. Cleckley’s Psychopathy criteria
A
- DSM= more behavioural, observable measures, may have lost essence of “psychopathy”, which is= unobservable traits– so more reliable, but less valid
- so its possible to have APD, without having psychopathic traits
- emotional content not included in DSM 5
- unobservable traits= hard to measure
- Cleckley criteria= not necessarily for diagnosis
