Rope Rescue Requirements

any rescue attempt that requires rope and related equipment necessary to safely gain access to, and remove victims from hazardous geographic areas with limited access such as mountains, high rise buildings, above or below grade structures by means of a rope system
non-technical—less than 40 degrees inclination

Swift Water requirements
an excessive amount of fast moving water which has created a life hazard or rescue scenario

Structural Collapse requirements
a building that has become unstable either due to natural or man made efforts that poses an life risk and potential rescue
Trench Rescue Requirements
a narrow excavation made below the surface of the ground
generally the depth is greater than the width at the bottom and the width at the bottom is not greater than 15’
- *establish scene perimeter of at least 500’**
- *establish rescue perimeter of 35-50’**
Vehicle Extrication requirements
an incident involving a vehicle in which one or more persons has become entrapped and can not self extricate
- *establish action circle 10-15’ around vehicle**
- *establish an outer circle 20-25’ around**
- *extend a staffed hose line**
permit required confined space
- contains or has potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere
- contains a material that has potential for engulfing an entrant
- has an internal configuration such that an entrant could be trapped or asphyxiated
- or contains any other recognized safety or health hazard
