extra investigations to do in pneumonia
hiv test
antibody testing to vaccines -some people cant convert igm to igg -look for igg
CF test
management of cap
5 days amox
2nd line -clarithro for paeds, adults clarithro or doxy or erythro in pregnancy
if influenza isolated add co-amox
management of hap
mild/moderate: co-amox PO, 2nd line oral =clarithro for kids, doxy, cefalexin, or ceftriaxone for adults
severe: IV piperacillin with tazobactam, ceftazidin, or ceftriaxone
if confirmed mrsa add teicoplanin and vancomycin
