Amarone history
- The name Amarone means “great bitter one”
- Accidently invented in 1938 when a winemaker left a recioto barrel fermenting in his cellar only to discover the nose and palette were “liquid gold”.
- Less sweet that recioto because fermented longer so yeast ate more of the sugar
