Definition of biomechanics?
the study of the structure, function and motion of a living body
Performance analysis means?
providing the athlete and the coach with the objective information that helps them better understand the performance
What does objective data mean?
comes as a result of a measurement independent of the observer
meaning the measurement i carried out using a tool (stopwatch, tape, heart rate monitor)
very reliable, eg: long-jump
What does subjective data mean?
dependent on the observer and based on feelings, opinions and impressions
not always reliable and isnt easily measured
eg: dance/gymnastics

What 3 sections can you break a skill down into when analysing? Explain.
PREPARATION: the lead-up, eg: jogging towards the rim before a lay-up in basketball.
EXECUTION: skill being performed, eg: action of basketball player extending their arm with the ball in the hand and bouncing it off the backboard so it falls into the hoop
RECOVERY: once skill is complete, eg: landing after a lay-up

Global Positioning System, use a network of satellites to determine the exact location of a device based on its distance from the satellites

describe the tactics that a team uses in order to be successful

the person who invents and arranges movements for dance/gymnastics in an order that allow the performer produce a routine
Symmetry means?
a combination of proportion and balance

being balanced in a graceful/elegant way
