Q

How is tissue fluid formed?

A

When blood comes in through the arterioles, there is a high hydrostatic pressure due to the thin diameter of the arterioles.
It reaches the capillaries and as the capillaries have gaps in the walls, water, glucose, amino acids etc. are forced out the capillary. (ULTRAFILTRATION)
The gaps are small so larger molecules like red blood cells and platelets and large proteins stay inside the cell. Due to this, a low water potential is created inside the cell and there is a low wp at the venule end of the capillary.

most of the liquid will be taken back into the cell by osmosis.
however, not all of it is taken back in, as equilibrium will be reached. Once it is. the remaining tissue fluid will be absorbed by the lymphatic system, where it is eventually drained into the bloodstream near the heart.

SUMMARY

arterioles pump blood high pressure because thin diameter, gaps in capillaries, liquid forced out ,large stuff stays ,creates low water potential, most liquid reabsorbed by osmosis. rest liquid absorbed by lymphatic system, drained back to bloodstream near heart.
