prosocial behaviour
Voluntary behaviours that are positively valued by society. They have positive social impact.
altruism
acts that benefit another but are not expected to benefit the self (and can be costly to the self)
biology-related person factor that leads to prosocial behavior:
reciprocity theory-
helping others increases the chance that they will help you later, increasing the chances of survival
Kin Selection Theory
to ensure our genes are passed on into future generations, we are biased to help those genetically related to us.

Empathy
n emotional response to a situation. Feeling what someone else is feeling.
Empathetic accuracy
you might feel empathy, but you might be misinterpreting how they are feeling in the situation
Empathetic concern
feeling concerned/compassion for the person in need
• Empathy should be focused on the person in need and not your feelings in that situation

you should give to people in need (without expecting anything in return)
