Where was Cromwell moved to from the Netherlands?
he was moved to Italy where he served as a soldier and came into contact with radical political ideas which influenced in later life.
When did he return to England?
in 1516 after serving a period of service to a Venetian merchant. he got married and found employment in the household of Cardinal Wolsey.
How did Cromwell achieve an important position in Wolsey’s household?
Wolsey recognised his abilities and increased his position in 1519.
What are the Inns of Court?
a residence in London where barristers received training and where they could lodge while studying. he learned enough about law to attend these courts in 1524 and developed a successful legal practice.
When was he elected as an MP?
in 1529, and he played an active role in attacking abuses within the church.
When was he a member of the Royal Council?
1531, he found himself in the royal service. he combined this advancement with his loyalty to his old master, Wolsey, until his death in 1530.
