A

It was a special law that was passed by Parliament which allowed someone to be declared guilty of treason without going through the process of a trial.

A

A

A

They found ways to avoid getting licences by covering up records of the wages they paid to servants so no-one knew who and how many were getting retained.

A

He was convicted of illegally retaining 471 men and fined £70,000. However, Henry agreed to a bond of £5,000 over ten years. The condition were that Burgavenny shouldn’t set foot on family lands until the debt was settled.
