theoretical models

A

One way to study internal processes is through the use of theoretical models (abstract concepts). This is just a representation of how internal mental processes could work.
It suggests that information flows through the cognitive system in a sequence of stages, including input, storage and retrieval.

Q

computer models

A

Cognitive psychology also uses a computer analogy, which suggests that the brain works in much the same way as a computer.
Information is taken in via the 5 senses, processed by the brain and the output is behaviour or speech.
