Q

what is a messenger RNA ( mRNA)

A

a molecule which carries a complimentary copy of genetic code from dna in the nucleus to a ribsome where the protein is assembled from amino acids

Q

Describe the stages of mRNA

A

Dna uncoils and the two strands separate
a complimentary copy of the gene is made this is called a mRNA
mRNA leaves the nucleus through a pore and travels to a ribosome
The ribosome reads three bases at a time
the ribosome continues to read the mRNS until a polypeptide chain is formed
