A
- Goebbels used every available method for winning people over. Goebbels might have publically made speeches, used posters, loud speakers and radio
- he made sure newspapers only printed stories favourable to the government
- every morning when the editors of Berlin’s newspapers went to the propaganda ministry, Goebbels told them what news to print and with what headlines. Any stories that newspapers printed which he didn’t approve were closed down

- he was president
- Hitler demanded the post of chancellor numerous times but Hindenburg refused to give it to him
- he said he didn’t trust Hitler to rule in a democratic way
- he preferred to let his friend Papen stay in the job and to make emergency laws for him
- he didn’t want Hitler in power as he feared Hitler would undermine democracy
