The Process of OT (Ch3) Flashcards
Reduction of the incidence of a disorder within a population that is currently well or considered to be potentially at risk
Primary prevention
Compares the assessment tool to another one with already established validity
Criterion validity
Assessments that provide scores that compare the individual’s performance to a preestablished criterion
Criterion-referenced assessments
How well the assessment appears to meet its stated purpose
Face validity
These precautions are for: 1. Respiratory isolation room 2. Respiratory protection mask
Airborne and Droplet Precautions
Early detection of problems in a population at risk to reduce the duration of a disorder or to minimize its effects through early intervention
Secondary prevention
How well the assessment represents what could be measured
Content validity
Assessment’s accuracy to determine if the tool measures what it was intended to measure
Validity
The consistency and stability of the evaluation
Reliability
Assessments that produce scores that compare the individual’s performance to a set population’s performance
Norm-referenced assessments
Elimination or reduction of dysfunction in an individual
Tertiary prevention
These precautions are for: 1. Isolation room 2. Wear gloves and gown 3. Single-patient-use equipment
Contact Precautions
