What was the trigger of the October Revolution?
Kerensky ordered to shut down Bolshevik newspapers and restrict the power of the Military Revolutionary Committee.
What happened on the night of the 24th October, the starting night?
This kicked off the revolution. 5000 soldiers under Trotsky’s command began taking over key government buildings such as post offices, railway stations, state banks etc. They faced little resistance.
When was the ‘Storming of the Winter Palace’ and what happened?
25th October. At 9:40pm a blank shot was fired from the Battleship Aurora which was the signal for the Bolsheviks to attack.
They entered the building easily and arrested members of the Provisional Government.

They adopted to take power into their own hands.

The Sovnarkom was created to run the government, it was originally made up of entirely Bolsheviks because other parties refused to join.
Congress elected the All Russian Central Executive Committee. Its job was to discuss the future of the government. It had 101 members, 62 of which were Bolsheviks.

Between 25,000 and 30,000, so not many in comparison to the February Revolution.
