How is Robin outlawed in the beginning of the book?

A

Robin met some foresters in the woods, and he wagered that he could kill one of the king’s deer. He kills the deer, but the foresters refuse to give Robin Hood the prize money. He then kills one of the king’s foresters and the king finds out. The king now hates him and Robin becomes an outlaw.

How does Little John end up about to be hung? How is he saved?

A

Three young farmers accidentally shot the king’s deer. Little John tried to save the young farmers from the Sheriff. The younger men ran away while Little John was defending them. The Sheriff then takes Little John and threatens to hang him. Robin shows up as Guy Gisbourne and tells the Sheriff to give him Little John so that he could kill him, so Little John and Robin Hood escape.
