the learning process Flashcards
perceiving (stimuli/input)
data is received by the brain from a variety of stimuli or cues (relevant bits of information) provided by the senses- primary sight, hearing and touch.
deciding (processing)
the brain processes all of the data it has received.
the deciding (processing) of information involves three main mechanisms
perceptual mechanism- organises and interprets the sensory information
decision-making mechanism- based on the information, decisions are made as to the most appropriate physical response
effector mechanism- organises, initiates and controls the selected movement response
acting (response/ output)
it signals the neuromuscular system to respond accordingly in order to perform the necessary movements
evaluating feedback
the performer will receive feedback from their own performance and perhaps from a coach or other observer regarding the success or otherwise of the movement executed
