Q

what is oxygen deficit

A

Amount of oxygen your body can absorb above normal resting oxygen levels. Therefore the amount of oxygen you are using is greater than the amount of oxygen you are intaking.

Q

what is VO2 max

Q

the ‘debt’ is not actually paying back oxygen but rather providing oxygen to perform five main functions

A

replenishing the ATP-CP stores

removing lactic acid

replacing depleted oxygen stores in the body

supplying oxygen to the heart and respiratory muscles, which are still active

suppling oxygen to body tissue to be used because of increase body temperature resulting from exercise.
