how does double circulatory system work?
deoxygenated blood passes through right atrium and right ventricle to lungs where it is oxygenated
oxygenated blood passes through left atrium and left ventricle to the body cells where blood gives out it’s oxygen

describe the process of blood flow through the heart?
blood flows through right atrium through vena cava
atria contract forcing blood to right ventricle
right ventricle contracts and forces blood to pulmonary artery to be taken to the lungs
oxygen flows through left atrium through pulmonary vein
left atrium contracts forcing blood to left ventricle
left ventricle contracts and forces blood to aorta to be taken around body
while this happens, valves close so blood does not flow backwards
what is the purpose of coronary arteries?
provide muscle cells in heart with oxygen
