Reactivity series going down group 7

A

1) Halogens only need to gain one electron to form a 1- ion with a stable electronic structure.
2) The easier it is for the halogen to attract the electron, the more reactive it is.
3) As you go down group 7, the elements get less reactive because it is harder to attract that extra electron.
4) This is because it is further away from the nucleus.
