Making an lead sulfate using a precipitation reaction
1) Add 1 spatula of lead nitrate to a test tube with water in it so that it dissolves (use de-ionized water and shake thoroughly).
2) Then, in a separate test tube, do the same with 1 spatula of magnesium sulfate.
3) Tip the 2 solutions into a smaller beaker and stir. The lead sulfate should precipitate out.
4) Filter the beaker contents using filter paper and a funnel. Swill out the beaker with more de-ionized water and pour this in too.
5) Rinse the contents of the filter paper
6) Scrape the lead sulfate onto a piece of paper and leave it to dry in a warm oven
