Why is Malu’s band called the Co-Co’s? Why does Malu think it is the right fit for her?
Their band name is short for ‘coconuts’. ‘Coconuts’ is someone who is brown on the outside and white on the inside. Malu thinks this suits her because her Spanish is terrible, spicy foods turn her into fire breathing monster, cilantro tastes like bars of soap, and she listens to punk music.

Maria Luisa Block, because her mom her to have a strong Mexican name for a strong Mexican girl.
Why did the Co-Co’s break up?
Malu got mad at Joe for leaving a copy of their flyer in the copier, getting her sent to the principal’s office. Joe quit the band after Malu finishes talking.
