What function does the salivary glands have?
Produces sliva- contains amylase (starch-glucose)
What function does the oesophagus have?
Circular muscles contract and relax.
What function does the stomach have?
Churns food with acid and pepsin (enzyme)
Acid HCI- kills bacteria, and - creates good environment for enzyme- pepsin.

What function does the liver have?
Produces alkaline substance called bile.- alkali; and -provide perfect pH condition; and -stops stomach acid from burning intestine.
Is the second biggest organ.
What function does the gall bladder have?
Stores bile before it is released into small intestine.
What function does the pancreas have?
Produces pancreatic juice containing amylase (starch- glucose), lipase (fats- fatty acids) and trypsin (proteins-amino acids).
What function does the large intestine have?
Absorption of excess of water- enters: undigested food- water gets reabsorbed.
What function does the small intestine have?
Absorption of small soluble substances- digestion finishes- absorption.
What function does the appendix have?
Serves no function in human body.
What function does the rectum have?
Stores feaces before egestion. - undigested food stored.
