Where are the lungs?
A
The lungs are in the thorax.

Where does the air go after you breath it in?
A
It goes through the trachea, which splits into two tubes called the bronchi, which split into bronchioles, which end in bags called aveoli where gas exchange takes place.

How does breathing in occur?
A
Intercostal muscles in the diaphragm contract, so the thorax volume increases. This decreases the pressure, so air is drawn in.

How does breathing out occur?
A
Intercostal muscles and diaphragm relax, so the thorax volume decreases. This increases the pressure, so air is forced forced out.

A
Ventilation is breathing in and out.
