What does the frontal lobe do?
Allows us abstract thought, social skills, planning, expression of characteristics associated with personality and emotional behavior.
Higher order thinking
What does the parietal lobe do?
Touch, non verbal thought, spatial orientation
What does Occipital lobe do?
(vision)
Identifying objects etc
What does cerebellum do?
Perception and cognition, balance, and fine muscle control
Medulla does??
Heart beat, breathing, and other vital bodily functions
The Pons does?
Controls movement, breathing, sleeping, dreams and waking
Temporal lobe does?
Hearing, language, visual recognition, facial recognition
What does primary motor cortex do?
Controls our movements - has a mental map of the body’s layout and specific areas are devoted to individual body parts

Receives info from sense receptors in the skin
