A
Lifespan development is age related changes that occur from brith throughout a persons life.
Infancy- birth to 3 years 
Childhood 3-10 years 
Adolescence - 10-20 years 
Early adulthood 20-40 years 
Middle age 40-65
Older age 65+

What are examples of physical cognitive and emotional/social development for the stages

A

Infancy- P. Rapid brain + body growth C. Beginning to communicate through language E/S. Development of self recognition and self identity

Childhood preschool - P. Continued rapid brain dev C. Large increase in the use and understanding of lang ES. More sophisticated pretend play

Childhood school aged- P physical growth slows C. Attention span improves dramatically
ES. More independent from parents and carers

Adolescence- P dramatic growth spurt
C. Gains in knowledge and understanding
ES. A quest for independence emotionally closer friends 1 or 2 others

Early adulthood - P. Peak physical functioning
C. Sophisticated cognitive skills especially in expertise ES. Continued work on self identity, ,marriage

Middle age - P. Physical decline becomes more noticeable C. More stable cognitive functioning peal expertise and creative experiences ES. More stable self identity (although midlife crisis)

Old age- p. continued physical decline C. For many some cognitive decline, not inevitable ES. Self estee, and life satisfaction is generally v good

Difference between learning and maturation

A

Maturation is a genetically programmed process that governs growth, direst physical and biological dev including infants muscles and brain whereas learning is a relatively permanent change in behavior due to experience- achieved through practise
