A
Seminomas

What is the epidemiology of testicular cancer?
A
Very rare
But most common solid tumors diagnosed in men aged 20-34

What are some of the risk factors for testicular cancer?
A
- Fhx of testicular cancer
- Gonadal dysgenesis
- Testicular atrophy

What are the presenting symptoms of testicular cancer?
A
- testicular swelling or discomfort
- Back pain - para-aortic lymph node enlargement
- Short of breath - lung metastasis

What are the signs of testicular cancer on physical examination?
A
- Painless lump in testicles
- Hydrocoele
- Lymphadenopathy
- Gynaecomastia (tumour producing hCG)

What are the appropriate investigations for testicular cancer?
A
- Bloods - tumour markers (b-hCG, AFP)
- Urine pregnancy test (positive in hCG producing tumour)
- USS of testicles
- CT pelvis and abdomen
