Lie: Go ahead, no one will see and what they don’t know won’t cause anyone trouble.
Truth: There is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, neither hid that shall not be known Luke 12:2
Lie: It is OK if I don’t do my part. The church will thrive and God will accomplish what he wants even if I don’t do my part. Besides I am so small and weak my part wouldn’t count.
Truth: God sought for one man to stand in the gap and found none so had to bring destruction. When I see that I am the least, then I am much more needed. Gideon pointed out that he was poor and nobody in his family, but God and Gideon saved the nation. In Jeremiah, God said that if he could find one righteous person, he could save the nation. Ezekiel 22:30 / I Corinthians 12:22 / Judges 6;15
Lie: It is OK to do my current tasks halfheartedly because they are not all that important. Besides, I’m doing it for them and not myself so it is not worth extra effort. When I get big important things to do, then I will buckle down and do a good job.
Truth: God and others will not trust me with big important things or even with managing my own life if I am not faithful in: that which is least, and in what is anothers’. Luke 16:10-12
