Which stabilizer first?
How low?
What about the other stabilizer?
Lowest side first (direction the apparatus is leaning)
Should be fully lowered
Stabilizer on the high side should EXTENDED AS NECESSARY and then lowered to a point that levels the apparatus
UNLESS: the WORKING side is the HIGH SIDE - then it MUST be fully extended then lowered accordingly
TB
Apparatus

Basic pumping:
Pump idle pressure equals what?
Pressure pumps provide + water intake

What is typical pressure pumps provide in volume or in pressure?
Volume equals 55
Pressure equals 110
TB
Apparatus
Basic pumping:
What mode do we use the PPG in?
Pressure or rpm?
Pressure only
RPM Can be used as back up if pressure malfunctions but all lines should back out to a safe refuge area
TB
Apparatus
Basic pumping:
What is static versus residual pressure
Static = intake without water flowing
Residual= Remaining pressure once water has begun flowing.

If the 35 foot soft cannot reach and when in line pumping
TB
Apparatus
Basic pumping:
Should you connect to the hydrant first or the apparatus?
Hydrant because you may have to reposition the rig
TB
Apparatus
Basic pumping:
The pump pressure gauge should read no more than __ above the intake pressure gauge.

TB
Apparatus
Basic pumping:
When you have only one line in operation and you were told to shut down, how should you shut down?
Return to idle and then close discharge gate
TB
Apparatus
Basic pumping:
If operating the pump with all gates closed how can you prevent damage by heat buildup?
Keep water flowing through a drain or operate bypass cooler
