In order for Unit to be in the service as CFRD how many members shall be certified?

How to safeguard premises?
Should not be delegated to EMS, including awaiting arrival of PD

If patient is RMA and has altered mental status or emotionally disturbed person what should you do?
Request PD and remain on scene until EMS arrival

If a doctor is on scene and offer his help, what should we do?
Ask for proper ID, except assistance, notify dispatch. Ask doctor for six digit license number and put on PCR

What if ESU is on scene when we arrive?
If ESU is already on scene they retain responsibility, if we are on scene we retain responsibility.
If ESU assumes role higher level of prehospital care and assumes responsibility, release patient to ESU

Can we treat minors when Guardian refuses permission?
If they are suffering from a life threatening illness, and delay in treatment would jeopardize their life.
Non-life-threatening: explain the reason for treatment, call dispatch, call telemetry, do not leave scene before EMS

If you suspect child abuse, then what?
Report to EMS personnel, make an entry in the company journal, with names of those notified and they are unit designation

It is not sufficient without a DNR. There is a check box within it, saying “yes or no” to a DNR

Must not be expired.
Only valid if patient originates from the nursing home or hospital that issued it

Living will?

Discontinue efforts

When should you disregard a DNR?
Reasonable evidence it has been revoked or canceled
Patient is conscious says they want to live
Family member requests, and confrontation is likely
The physician is there and orders to disregard

If there is a DNR and not in cardiac arrest then what to do?
Full treatment for all injuries.

If an route to hospital patient experiences heart attack then what do you do?
With a valid DNR.
Withhold CPR continue to transport bring documents
