= Seperate, they can not understand the mind completly
What is meant by phenomenal conciousness ?
- > The Qualia
- Explains the concept of mind via conscious experience
- Conscious experinced are characterised by the way it feels
- example: Sensation
What is meant by psychological consciousness ?
- Explains the concept of mind the via explanatory basis (information processing) for behaviour
- Consciouss experienced are characteristed by the way it does
- Example would be learning and memory
- Also called awareness
What is so special abbout the phenomenal conscousness ?
- It can only be accesed by the first person
What is so special about the psychological consciousness?

- If consciousness concepts wants to be expalined they are often explained by Pssychological and phenomenal consciousness since they tend to co occur (bounded toegther)
- But some dual conceps are still more one sided such as sensation (more phenomenal)
What is meant by the deflationary concept ?
- That consciousness is purely based on psychological consciousness
What is meant by the inflationary concept ?
- conscious experience is required for truly believing
- consciousness is purely based on phenomenalconsciousness
What is the problem of phenomenal consciousness ?
- We have no independent language for describing phenomenal qualities
What is meant by awareness ?
- Whenever we have acces to some information and can use that information to control behaviour
- In general, wherever there is phenomenal consciousness, there seems to be awareness
What is the difference between consciousness and awareness ?
- consciousness is the procces of awarness -> so they are not equal !
- awareness is the process of information
