Ecosystem
all the interacting parts of a biological environment.
Sustainable ecosystem
an ecosystem that is capable of withstanding pressure and giving support to a variety of organisms.
Biotic factor
The living parts of an ecosystem
Abiotic factor
The non-living parts of an ecosystem.
Symbiosis
is the interaction between members of two different species that live together in close association.
Predation
Predation occurs when one organism consumes another organism for food. This is very basic: a predator eating prey.
Competition
Competition occurs when two or more organisms compete for the same resource.
Mutualism
Is a relationship between two species in which both species benefit from the relationship.
Parasitism
A relationship between two organisms in which one benefits at the expense of the other without, occasionally without killing off the organism.
Commensalism
a relationship where one organism benefits without harming the other organism.
