The suffering Jesus endured leading up to his death

a type of execution (commonly used by the Romans) where someone is nailed to a large wooden cross, by his/her hands and feet, and left there to die.
Suffering Servant
How christ suffered and died on the cross for our sins
Ascension
forty days after he resurrected, Christ’s humanity entered divine glory
Resurrection
The rising of christ from the dead 3 days after his death. Both physically and spiritually
Agony in the Garden
The moral, mental and physical suffering Jesus endured in the Garden of Gethsemane, there he prayed for him to not have to do his passion, but still accepted it
Descent of the Holy Spirit
50 days after passover when the Apostles, Mary, and some disciples were gathered for Pentecost the Holy Spirit visited them

Stations of the Cross
a way of meditating on Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection
usually done my looking at depictions of separate stages during that period of his life
Temptations in the Desert
When Satan tempted Jesus 3 times, in the desert during Jesus’ 40 days of fasting to try to get him to disobey God. Jesus defied Satan’s will all 3 times.
Transfiguration
Christ’s divine nature being being showed to John, Peter, and James on MT. Tabor while Jesus is speaking to Moses and Elijah
what is the significance of the Transfiguration?
The transfiguration is significant because it portrays Jesus’s divinity to some of the apostles. It is equally as important because Jesus spoke with Moses and Elijah about his coming passion.
What is the new commandment and how does it relate to the Decalogue?
Jesus new law to love him and each-other as he loves us. It fits in with the Ten Commandments in the old testament because it is similar to how the decalogue tells us to treat each other.
what is the Eucharist and its significance?
The Eucharist is Jesus’s body and blood. It is significant because we take Jesus into our bodies. T
