what is the diathesis stress model?
diathesis: individual predisposition ( genetic influence, social isolation, aggressive tendencies), social predisposition (social change, weak social structure, absence of taboos)
stressors: loss of social control, other stressful event producing hopelessness.

intervention has been deemed more fitting as it embodies a more neutral stance, interceding without the implications of preventing the act. it is to help support an individual to try and avoid them from committing.
