Style as the Man
It deals with the variations and the options that are available to an author
ex. Format in writing
Style as Choice
Language is used according to situation or circumstance. It is the CONTEXT that determines language choice in speaking or writing
Style as Situation
A period usually dictates the style employed by the writers.
ex. Shakespeare — writing in verses
Style as Period of Time
Strictly enforced (academic/educational field (students’ research projects, some professional writings)
Style as Conformity
When conventions are not complied with
