From larvae - massive infection results in fever, anorexia, death
From adults - bloodsuckers
Describe the clinical signs
Acute larval infections
- Fever - Anorexia - Constipation - Reddish urine - Damage to pancreas
Chronic infection
- Colic without fever
Adults
- Anemia
How to diagnose?
Eggs: can’t differentiate between large and small Strongyles
Larvae and adults: can differentiate between large and small Strongyles
How do you treat and prevent?
Anthelmintics
