MASS Positive < 12 hours
ACT-FAST negative

A
  • IV access - 18G in large vein with reflux valve
  • Transport to nearest thrombolysing stroke centre
  • pre notify hospital
  • consider R/V with MSU

  • IV access - 18G in large vein with reflux valve
  • transport urgently to ECR centre
  • pre notify hospital
  • consider R/V with MSU

A

-> ARM
- position arms at 45degrees
Encourgae patient to hold up.

RIGHT ARM DRIFTS or doesnt move
-> CHAT
Look for severe language defecit

RIGHT ARM DRIFTS or doesnt move
-> TAP
Tap shoulder on left side and call patients name

What is the eligibility criteria to be ACT FAST Positive?

A
  • defecits are new or worse
  • known onset <24 hours
  • living at home independently
  • No evidence of stroke mimics
