What is ECR?
Endovascular clot retrieval
WHat is the treatment for:
MASS Positive < 12 hours
ACT-FAST negative
- IV access - 18G in large vein with reflux valve
- Transport to nearest thrombolysing stroke centre
- pre notify hospital
- consider R/V with MSU
What is the treatment for:
MASS Positive < 24 hours
ACT-FAST positive
- IV access - 18G in large vein with reflux valve
- transport urgently to ECR centre
- pre notify hospital
- consider R/V with MSU
What is the MASS stroke assessment
Facial droop
Speech - you cant teach an old dog new tricks
Hand grip
What is the ACT FAST assessment
-> ARM
- position arms at 45degrees
Encourgae patient to hold up.
RIGHT ARM DRIFTS or doesnt move
-> CHAT
Look for severe language defecit
RIGHT ARM DRIFTS or doesnt move
-> TAP
Tap shoulder on left side and call patients name
What is the eligibility criteria to be ACT FAST Positive?
- defecits are new or worse
- known onset <24 hours
- living at home independently
- No evidence of stroke mimics
