high flow O2
10mg IM midazolam
- repeat once @ 10 mins

A
- hypersensitivity to benzodiazapines

Whats the treatment for seizures in paeds?
A
Medium child (5-11) = 2.5 - 5 mg IM
Small child (1-4) = 2.5mg IM
Small & large infant (under 12 months)= 1 mg IM
Newborn = 0.5mg IM
- Repeat same dose once after 10 mins

What are the precautions for midaz
A
- elderly/frail
- CNS depressant effects are enhanced in thepresence of narcotics and other tranquilisers
- can cause severe resp depression in pts with copd
- pts with myasthenia gravis

A
depressed consciousness
resp depression
loss of airway control
hypotension

Onset - 3- 5min
peak - 15
duration - 30mins
