- Temporary blockage
- A warning sign
- Lasts less than 24 hours

- When the cause is unknown

- Can cause a “locked in” state
- Cannot speak or move below the neck

S - Choose a playing surface which is smooth and slip resistant Decrease number of obstacles, keep the floor tidy
T - Interval tasks/games with opportunities to rest, Simplify and clearly communicate rule
E - Use slower moving targets, Use larger targets
P - Do activities in smaller groups, Educate and support instructors, support staff and peers
