Highly stressful event in the presence of protective factors. They are usually acute.
What is toxic stress?
Severe, long-lasting, unremitting stress in the absence of protective factors.
Is physical abuse worse than emotional abuse?
Yes.
What kind of abuse leads to a greater likelihood of developing conduct disorder?
Physical abuse.
What did the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study establish?
Physical abuse is worse than emotional abuse.

Depression.

Blunted cortisol response to stress; lower response to acute stress.
