Eustress vs Distress
(psychological)
A
- eutress - positive psychological responses to a stressor (beneficial)
e.g. feeling enthuastic, motivated, excited (typically short-term) - distress - negative psychological responses to a stressor (undesirable)
e.g. feeling anxious, nervous, angry (can be short- or long-term)

- rapid heart rate/palpitations
- increased blood pressure
- headaches
- nausea/vomitting
- dizziness/fainting
- chest pain
- difficulty breathing
- muscle twitching/erratic movements
- fatigue

Internal vs External Stressors
A
- internal - orginates within the individual
e.g. stomachace - external - originates outside the individual
e.g. environmental pressures like homework
