  • disturbance - any issue that disrupts an individual’s normal sleep wake cycle
    e.g. sleep-wake cycle shift in adolescence, jet lag
  • disorder - sleep disturbances are more persistent and serious causing distress/dysfunction in everyday life
    e.g. DSPS, ASPS, SWSD
