chalmydia and gonorrhoea- nucleic acid amplification test (naat). Syphilis and HIV- blood test

ceftriaxone

prostatitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, testicular pain/swelling, resistance
What is the treatment for chlamydia?
doxycyline
Two complications of chlamydia?
pelvic inflammatory disease- infertility in 1-20% of cases, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic pain, fever. Inflamed testes and epidydimis in men

treponema pallidum
What is the most common feature of the presentation of primary syphilis?
chancre- a painless ulcer
How is syphilis staged?
primary

How does secondary syphilis typically present?
generalised rash affecting hands and soles, lymphadenopathy, fever
What is the clinical presentation of tertiary syphilis?
neurosyphilis, cardiovascular- aortic valve disease, gummatour syphilis (granulomatous lesion)
What is the treatment for syphilis?
benzathine penicillin
Which infection causes strawberry cervix?
trichomonas vaginalis (protozoa)
First line treatment for chalmydia?
doxycycline
Patient with gram negative diplococcus, urethral discharge and burning sensation while peeing. Sexually active and doesn’t use condoms. What is the diagnosis?
