Steps Of Endochondrial Ossification Flashcards
Step 1
Mesoderm cells develop and differentiate into mesenchymal cells
Step 2
Mesenchymal cells migrate then aggregate-(gather together)at future bone site to form its shape
Step 3
After Mesenchymal cells have aggregated to site of future bone, they then differentiate into CHONDroblasts-that secrete Cartilage ECM
Step 4
After chondroblasts have secreted ECM, the ECM hardens to cartilage which is surrounded by a fibrous perichondrium(covering )
Step 5
After Cartillage ECM is solidified the chondroblast becomes trapped. TheY are now known From being chondroblasts to CHONDROCYTES.
Step 6- Hypertrophy- death & Calcification
Chondrocytes enlarge to the point where single nuclei can’t support cell anymore
Step 7-Primary Ossification center
Space created in center of bone after hardening and drying out of CHONDROCYTES after death
Step 8
Nutrient Artey invades the primary marrow cavity
