What are the side effects of statins?

- myopathy: myalgia, myostis
- liver impairment
- inc. risk of intracerebral haemorrhage in patients who have had a previous stroke

What are the contraindications of statins?
A
- macrolides (erythromycin, clarithromycin) - statins stopped until cycle of macrolides complete
- pregnancy
