denial - when one refuses to believe what is happening. not accepting the loss.

anger - when one is irritable about what is happening. usually angry at the deceased person for dying, angry at yourself, or God

bargaining - when one makes promises in hope to change the outcome of the event. ex: attempting to make deals with God, wishing for the person to come back

depression - when one is really sad when they realize the outcome is unable to change. feeling hopeless, mourning loss, numb, or suicidal

also called the calling hours/showing; a ceremony that allows family and friedns to view/watch over the deceased person before the funeral. the person is in the casket. this is an INFORMAL ceremony.
