What are risk factors for SCC?

- Excessive exposure to sunlight/UV
- Bowen’s disease
- Immunosuppression
- Smoking
- Genetic conditions

How do SCC present?
A
- Slow growing over 3-6 months
- Scaly red patch/Open sore with irregular border
- Raised growth with central depression
- Can crust over, itch or bleed

What is Bowen’s disease?
A
SCC in situ - treated with cryotherapy/electric curettage

How is invasive SCC treated?
A
- Cryotherapy/Electrodessication
- Topical fluorouracil/imiquimod cream
- Radiotherapy
- Strict sun avoidance
