What are the stages of Eczematous Dermatitis?
Acute–red papules/vesicles
Subacute–vesicles pop, making crusts and scales
Chronic–crust gone, only scales remain
What is something unique about Dishydrotic Dermatitis?
It has the most vesicles of any spongiotic disorder.
What are the stages of Dishydrotic Dermatitis?
Acute–deep vesicles (tapioca color)
Subacute–HPKs form
Chronic–HPKs with lichenification
What does an Id Reaction look like?
Pruritic papulo-vesicular dermatitis often involving the feet and hands.
What causes an Id Reaction?
Intradermal release of cytokines in a primary dermatitis that are picked up by lymphatics and carried to a distant site.
What is Allergic Contact Dermatitis?
A type 4 T cell mediated hypersensitivity reaction
What is the progression of lesions in Allergic Contact Dermatitis?
Erythema –> Vesicles –> Erosions/Crusts –> Scales –> Lichenification
What is Atopic Dermatitis?
- Type I Hypersensitivity (IgE)
